Three steps, start to file
Nothing about MisjaMP3 is hidden behind a wizard or a queue. The whole job is: find the address, hand it over, pick a container.
- Copy the video's address. In the YouTube app tap Share → Copy link; on a computer copy what is in the address bar, or right-click the video and choose Copy video URL.

MisjaMP3 finds the 11-character video ID inside it, whether it came from
youtube.com,youtu.be,m.youtube.comor the Music app. - Press MP3 or MP4. A progress bar appears under the field and the file is converted on our side. When it is ready the download starts by itself; there is no second button to hunt for.
A conversion normally takes a few seconds. Long recordings take proportionally longer, because the audio has to be extracted and re-encoded before anything can be handed over.

The kbps and the resolution you get follow the source upload: MisjaMP3 never invents quality that was not in the original file. A video published at 128 kbps audio cannot be turned into a 320 kbps MP3 that sounds better than what the creator uploaded — the file simply comes back at the bitrate that exists.
MP3 or MP4 — which one do you actually want?
Take the MP3 when…
…the picture does not matter to you. Audio is a fraction of the size, it plays in every music app, on every car stereo and every podcast player, and it keeps playing with the screen off. If you are collecting a song, a talk or a lecture, this is the one to press.
Take the MP4 when…
…you need to see it: a tutorial you follow with your hands busy, a clip you want to show someone where the Wi-Fi is bad, a lecture with slides. Video files are much larger, so on a metered connection it is worth asking whether the picture is really part of what you want to keep.
You are not locked in either way — the same link can be converted twice, once into each format, without touching the link again.
Links that work, and the one that does not
Standard videos, Shorts, live streams that have already ended and videos opened from the YouTube Music app all convert. A link to a playlist does not: a playlist has no single video ID, so the converter has nothing to work with. Open the video you want inside the playlist and copy the address from there.
Videos that the uploader has made private, region-locked material and anything that has since been deleted cannot be converted by anyone, MisjaMP3 included — there is no stream left to read.
On a phone
MisjaMP3 has no app, and does not need one: the site works the same in mobile Safari and in Chrome on Android.
- iPhone and iPad: open the video in the YouTube app, tap Share, choose Copy link, switch to your browser, paste it into the field and press a format. The file lands in Files → Downloads.
- Android: the same three taps — Share → Copy link, then paste. Chrome saves the file to the Downloads folder and offers to open it right away.
- Home screen shortcut: your browser's menu has an Add to Home Screen entry; the site behaves like a normal page in a tab, but one tap closer.
When a conversion fails
A conversion that stops halfway is almost always one of four things, and the status line under the field names the stage it stopped at:
- The link was incomplete. Chat apps sometimes clip a long address. Copy it again from the YouTube page itself.
- The video is protected or private. Age-restricted, members-only and region-locked videos have no stream that a converter may read; try a different video to confirm the tool itself is fine.
- The video is very long. A three-hour recording has to be re-encoded end to end, and the request can time out before it finishes. Converting the video in parts is not supported — but retrying often succeeds when the servers are quieter.
- The tool was busy. Wait a minute and press the format again; a second attempt costs nothing.
If the same link keeps failing at the same stage, it is the link, not your connection.
Copyright: the part that is on you
MisjaMP3 is a conversion tool, not a library: it stores nothing permanently and publishes nothing. What you do with the file afterwards is your responsibility, and the rules are simple enough — download your own uploads, public-domain material, clips whose licence allows reuse, or anything you have permission to keep, and do not redistribute somebody else's work.

Questions people ask
Do I need an account or an app?
No. MisjaMP3 runs in the browser tab you already have open: no sign-up, no email address, no extension, no desktop program.
Which audio quality do I get?
MP3 files come back at 128, 192 or 320 kbps, whichever the source recording supports. 320 kbps is the bitrate music stores sell, so in normal listening it is indistinguishable from the original upload.
Is anything kept on your servers afterwards?
The finished file sits in a temporary cache on our conversion host and expires on its own shortly after the transfer ends. It is never published, and nobody else can reach your download link.
Can I convert a whole playlist at once?
No — one video per request. A playlist link is rejected because the converter works from a single 11-character video ID. Open the videos individually and convert them one after another.
Does it cost anything?
Not a thing. There is no paid tier, no daily cap and no account to run out of credit — the page carries no advertising either.
Why is the MP4 sometimes only 720p?
Because that is the highest resolution the uploader published. Resolution is copied from the source file, not upscaled, so a video that was uploaded at 720p stays 720p.
